Who we are
Thank you for visiting our website. We are Alex and Elliot Burton and are equal partners and directors at Burton Brothers Brick and Stone Ltd.
We grew up within our family building business in Godalming, Surrey, learning to work on buildings old and new. Building with the local Bargate stone, and reclaimed materials is the area we really excelled and enjoyed the most.
Having already learnt many of the traditional skills passed down to us, in 2018 Burton Brothers Brick and stone was born.
Specialists in our field
Our plan was to specialise in Brick and stone walling projects, and period property repairs. By focusing in this area alone, we have had the opportunity to hone our skills and provide exceptional workmanship, whilst offering good value in service and efficiency.
We have good knowledge of the local building stones and can assist our clients in sourcing suitable alternatives when an exact match is not viable.
Our experience and understanding of the materials means that our quality of work is often above the means of general bricklayers who simply may not have the same level of experience. After all, this is what we do.
We are often called in by primary contractors as a specialist sub-contractor to supply and lay stone and brick quoining for their projects. We are also happy to work with clients and their primary builder who would like to use our stone expertise on their residential project.

Material selection
We understand that using the right materials for your project makes an undeniable difference to the overall aesthetic.
Adhering to the local vernacular, and using local materials where possible, we believe, is important not only on an environmental point of view, but is also true to local history and charm of our wonderful towns and villages.
Set amongst the beautiful East Hants. countryside, we operate our small yard. It is here that we have the facility for cutting and preparing quarried or reclaimed materials for re-use in our projects. We also display sample panels of the local types of stone we can supply, and welcome our clients to view the materials before work begins.
You can also view our carefully sourced handmade brick samples, amongst others for the perfect match to your project.
